Motorcycles commonly have from one to four cylinders, with a few high-performance models having six although, some 'novelties' exist with 8, 10, or 12.The largest of these was the Lycoming R-7755 with 36 cylinders (four rows of nine cylinders), but it did not enter production. As each row contains an odd number of cylinders, to give an even firing sequence for a four-stroke engine, an even number indicates a two- or four-row engine.

Larger examples were built as multiple rows.

This tends to decrease fuel efficiency and robs the engine of some of its power. The downside to having more pistons is that the engine will tend to weigh more and generate more internal friction as the greater number of pistons rub against the inside of their cylinders. Doubling the number of the same size cylinders will double the torque and power. Having more cylinders in an engine yields two potential benefits: first, the engine can have a larger displacement with smaller individual reciprocating masses, that is, the mass of each piston can be less thus making a smoother-running engine since the engine tends to vibrate as a result of the pistons moving up and down. McCulloch reserves the right to make such changes without prior notification or obligation to backfit or supply backfit components for units previously shipped from the factory.Internal combustion engines can contain any number of combustion chambers (cylinders), with numbers between one and twelve being common, though as many as 36 ( Lycoming R-7755) have been used. Hence, specifications, equipment colors, design and manufacturer’s suggested list prices are subject to change without notice. The policy of McCulloch is one of continual improvement in design, manufacturing and engineering advancement wherever possible to assure still finer power tools.
MCCULLOCH MAC 3200 PARTS DIAGRAM SERIAL NUMBER
(†) Serial Number Prefix 21- or denotes CARB approved unit - all parts are interchangeable with Serial Number Prefix 11. (*) An asterisk denotes that choices follow or precede. The part or assembly to additional information on the Part is not available individually but is included in theĬircled numbers preceding a DESCRIPTION footnote If four dashes appear in place of a PART NUMBER, the Spring, Starter) preceding a part DESCRIPTION indicates the part is included in the kit or assembly described directly above the dot(s). (-) A dash preceding a PART NUMBER indicates that it is a new part number, different from the one listed in the previous IPL for this unit. NOTE:The following explains symbols and footnotes in this IPL: Fast to medium moving part.ī - Distributor stocked.
MCCULLOCH MAC 3200 PARTS DIAGRAM CODE
Illustrated Parts Lists (ILPs) contain a PART NUMBER, DESCRIPTION, UNITS per assembly and STOCKING CODE for each part.Ī - Dealer stocked. Suffix numbers denote variations in parts or assemblies used in the manufacture of this product. McCulloch products are identified by a model number (in this instance 600035) followed by a suffix number (08).
